My best tools to apply foundation.

The tools we use to apply foundation are a key part in to creating a flawless base that we all want to achieve.
The first brush is the Real Techniques Buffing brush, a synthetic haired brush that is perfect for cream, liquid or mousse products. It blend the product quickly and seamlessly on to the skin leaving it looking flawless.

The next brush is the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, a great multi-tasking brush. As the synthetic brush hairs are short and tightly packed together, it makes the brush perfect for buffing product in to the skin. Whether it be used for cream blush, liquid, mousse or cream foundation it can live up to any task it may face.

My last brush from Real Techniques is the Stippling brush, a brush that evenly distributes product on to the skin due to how the hairs are arranged. Using a buffing and stippling motion it can create and airbrush finish to the skin , whether it be used for foundation, concealer or cream blush.
My second to last tool best for applying foundation was a favourite of mine for ages ! It is the Royal and Langnickel Silk Pro C141. A brush where the hairs are densely packed together so it makes applying foundation so easy and quickly.
My last favourite tool for applying foundation is my hands. As they make it quick and easy and also give a natural finish to the skin. Our hands can do anything when it comes to makeup, whether it be blending in concealer, foundation, cream blush, cream eye shadow, powder eye shadow the list is endless.
As you will be able to see from my favourite tools I use, I haven't included the Classic Foundation brush, as I love a brush that can buff the product on to my skin. Hopefully you can tell me what your favourite tools are to apply foundation.

Top 5 products by MAC.

As MAC offer an extensive range of products and it is one of my favourite makeup brands, I thought I would tell you my personal top five products.

I first start off with Studio Fix Powder Foundation, as it is a powder foundation it gives you coverage on its own. I love this with Benefit Boi-ing concealer and also over the top of any foundation. This is a must have product for me as it sets my foundation, and it also leaves the skin with a matt finish. One tip with this product is not to apply too much as it can leave the skin looking cakey.

My next favourite is Zoom Lash, a mascara that I have to re purchase in full size. It leaves my eye lashes lovely and long with lots of volume. It is great as it stays on all day and does not leave any black smudges underneath the eyes.

My next top product is the Prolong wear Paint Pot in the shade Constructivist. The colour is a GEORGEOUS deep brown cream eye shadow. It stays on for a good amount of time, but I find I have to powder my eyelids before application. Definitely going to have to purchase more paint pots as they have a great colour range and also give you a good amount of product.

One thing I ABSOLUTLY love from MAC are their blushes, as I couldn't choose one colour to show you I thought I would show them all. The thing I love most with MAC blushes is they offer a great colour range, have a wide range of different finishes and you also get a lot for your money.

My last top product from MAC are their eye shadows as they have so many different colours to choose from, I would say so far my favourites are Sable, All that glitters, Satin Taupe and Sketch. MAC eye shadows are very well pigmented and also offer different finishes and textures.

Hopefully you can tweet me telling me what your favourites products from MAC are, or what you would hopefully like to get soon.

London College of Fashion Makeup Workshop Day 3

On Thursday 21st August, it was my last day at the London College of Fashion. Before lunch we were shown how to create a strong makeup look, by having a heavy coverage foundation, a smoky eye and a strong lip. We created the look by using dark brown and black eye shadows and a kohl liner. On the lips we created a 3-D effect, by using a dark lip liner to line the lips then gradually filling in the lips with a lighter shade. As we were creating a strong evening look we needed the skin to be flawless, for this we used MAC full coverage foundation, which is insanely full coverage !!

After lunch we were told to bring in images we would like to re-create on each other. I chose a Cara Delevingne classic smoky eye, that consisted of dark browns that were well blended with in the crease MAC Cranberry eye shadow that looked stunning. For the face it was nicely contoured with a nude pink lip. My partner created a light pink glittery eye, with false eye lashes (that were so uncomfortable and so not me). Paired with flawless looking skin.

On this day of the course my favourite product I used from MAC was Cranberry eye shadow.

Overall I really enjoyed the course, it was such an experience to learn so much about makeup, and try different looks on each other that you wouldn't usually go for. I would recommend this course to any one who wants to learn more about makeup, or someone who wants to re-fresh their skills. As the London College of Fashion have so many different short courses I hope it won't be the only course I go on.

London College of Fashion, Makeup Workshop Day 2

On Wednesday 20th August, it was my second day at the London College of Fashion, Makeup Workshop. As on the first day we mostly worked with Cream Products, for example Paint pots and Cream Colour bases - which are both for MAC. But on the second day we were working with powder products for example eye shadows and blushes. During the presentations we were told how to notice the contouring and highlighting, the makeup artist had created on the model.
When we created each others makeup look, we created a winged  liner then using a pigment and a mixing medium we followed the line of the black liner using the pigment. I personally love the use of the pigment and eyeliner, as you can use any pigment and eye shadow of any colour to create a unique look.

In the afternoon of the second day we learned how to apply individual eyelashes, which is something I have always wanted to know how to do, then paired it with a bright coloured lip. I decided to have a pink lip. After the lipstick was applied we pressed glitter in the centre of the lip to create a fuller and 3D looking lip.

My favourite product from MAC I used on the second day was the pigment in the shade copper. My next blog post will be about my third and last day of the course.

August Favourites

As we now enter September, I'm going to share with you the products I have loved throughout the month of August, and also a non beauty favourite.

I firstly start off with Essence 3D eye shadow in the shade Irresistible Vanilla Latte. Which offers two beautiful eye shadows that are pigmented and leave a lovely finish on the eye. For the price this was I am really happy with the quality.
I next have another product from Essence the Silky Touch blush in the shade Baby doll. A beautiful natural pink that does not need a lot on the brush. Again I am really happy with the quality of this product as when swatched it feels lovely and smooth.

The next two favourites go hand in hand as I have MAC blush in the shade Eternal Sun, a beautiful brown shade that looks Satin in the pan, but has a matte finish on the skin. I love this shade for a subtle contour and also as a blush. For contouring I love to use the Royal and Langnickel Silk Pro C185 brush, as it fits perfectly under the cheek bones. As the brush hairs are short it allows the product to be buffed in to the skin.

My last makeup favourite is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara, that makes your eyelashes long and also gives them lots of volume. Perfect for an all round mascara.

Throughout the month of August I have been re-reading the Gallagher Girls book series by Ally Carter. There are six books in the series, so far (hopefully), with the last one on my kindle. The book series is about four teenage girls that go to a top secret spy school for girls, and through out the series they go through boy troubles and spy missions. I would highly recommend these books as they are perfect for anyone. Another series from Ally Carter is Heist Society I would also recommend.
